Why Malibu?

Malibu is a world-famous beach community outside of Los Angeles in sunny Southern California. It is known as the celebrity capital of California. Many stars and other famous people call Malibu home. There are a number of reasons why Malibu should be the first choice as a location for an effective rehab center. Malibu is located along a famous stretch of Pacific Coast Highway. The beaches here are well known surf spots as well as the perfect spot for a vacation home. It is sunny most days of the year. The average daytime temperature in the summer is not that different than the average daytime temperature in the winter. Malibu is in its own quiet community along the magnificent California coast of the Pacific Ocean, yet is just minutes away from Los Angeles and the Los Angeles International Airport. Its location is the perfect combination of easy access, quiet and serene surroundings, and both the mountains and the beaches. Whether you like mountain biking or surfing, both are readily accessible. Our residents can enjoy walks along the Malibu Beaches, or hikes along the trails in the foothills of the Malibu mountains.

What better place to experience serenity and recovery than in Malibu California. Given the choice, and you do have the choice, why would you go anywhere else but Malibu? Most of the other drug rehab centers are located within the city limits of large metropolitan areas, hardly where you would expect to have privacy and quiet. Most other rehab facilities cannot offer the unobstructed views of nature so beautifully captured at Malibu Rehab. With our individualized treatment plans and our luxurious and private setting, Malibu Rehab simply cannot be beat. Call the exclusive drug rehab center at Malibu Rehab today at 1-877-736-7506. One of our caring staff will take your call and answer all your questions. Malibu Rehab is just a phone call away, so do it now.

Why Rehab?

If you are reading this because you are thinking about rehab, you may still be asking yourself if you really need to go to rehab. You may think that you can quit on your own. That is hardly an original thought. Many other addicts just like you have said the same thing: “I can quit on my own”. The reality is, you can’t. Oh you can quit for a little while, and then start using again. That is not what I am talking about. What I am talking about is true sobriety; a life without drugs or alcohol, a life where you can cope with the stresses of life without resorting to drugs or alcohol. In order to do that, you need to understand yourself: why you use, and how to deal with life without using. The only way to do that is rehab.

In rehab you will come to understand why you use drugs or alcohol. You have used them in the past because they work very well. They have given you instant relief. They have worked so well that you have come to rely on them more and more until you are totally addicted. Now that you are there, we will help you understand how you got there, and how to not go there again. We will help you develop coping mechanisms and skills to deal with the frustrations and stresses of life without using. We will help you understand that life is precious, that life is good, and worth living, and that life is worth living without drugs. These are things you can’t do on your own. Call us at Malibu Rehab today at 1-877-736-7506, and we will help you regain your life. Why wait? Do it now, before it is too late.

What Can I Expect After I Leave Malibu Rehab?

When you leave Malibu Rehab you will have a contact in your local area that will be your sponsor. This is someone that you can call each day and talk to. If you are having a bad day they will help you through and keep you on the road to recovery. We will also help you find a local aftercare program that you can connect with, along with your local AA, NA etc. groups. You can’t do it on your own. You couldn’t before you came to rehab, and you can’t after you leave rehab. With these local resources you will have all the help you will need to help you stay sober.

What Next?

The next step is to call us at 1-877-736-7506. We will help you make the right decision to come to rehab here in Malibu California. With your willingness to come and our help, you will be well along the way to recovery.

The First Step is Acceptance

June 11th, 2008

“The first step is acceptance,” is not only a common phrase used in everyday life, but also an indirect philosophy of self-improvement. It represents the biggest challenge against one’s ego: recognizing and admitting something is plainly wrong. The following steps may change depending on the situation, involving psychological or ethical-religious methodology, but the outcome should be all the same: something changed. For good.

The phrase is almost naturally linked to drugs and alcoholism abuse as they are known for their addictive properties. In 2000, out of 100,000 individuals, 428 was receiving some kind of drug rehabilitation program. Drug abuse is concentrated in eight states, in order of highest proportion, New York ranks first place, followed by California, Florida, Texas, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The treatment basically consists of psychological therapy, counseling, group sessions, etc., or medications (i.e. the methadone or naltrexone treatment for opium and heroin addicts) or a combination of both.

Society’s view on drug rehab is misleading for common thought validates that all treatment works equally and appropriately for everyone, but each individual’s personal factors -such as occupational, physical, social, psychological, ethical, for example- will determine which treatment approach will work best.

Just like any common illness, medication or treatment must be ready and available at the precise moment it is needed and must be reachable for at least three months, which is considered the minimum time limit that is needed so the healing can start taking effect.

Detoxification is the only treatment that can physically stop the body’s urge for drug usage. Although it is not enough as a whole, it serves as an indicator to establish if the rehabilitation process will work. It is advisable to take both physical and psychological causes for drug usage as one, as there can be a correlation. Of course, this process of rehabilitation will take some time. Involuntary fallbacks are also, although not excused, possible. Those passages should be in constant supervision; now the process has been altered and must be changed according to the new situation the patient faces.

One thing will most definitely help the patient: support from family and friends. Strong motivation skills will serve as stimulants and will make easy the treatment process, even indirect -or direct- sanctions can also guarantee the success of the healing procedure.

Not only a successful drug rehab process helps the patient or addict, it lowers the possibilities of the patient or family members getting infected with HIV, hepatitis, and other diseases, and so, in a more elaborate world view, will reduce the global numbers of drug addiction and its outcome.

A rehab that caters to your fundamental uniqueness

June 4th, 2008

The drug and alcohol rehab center that’s right for you is the one that recognizes and caters to your fundamental uniqueness. You are your own person, you don’t need anyone to tell you that. No one else has ever experienced addiction quite the same way you have. By the same token, no one’s addiction recovery experience will ever be exactly like your own. If you’re going to get better, it’s going to be because you find a drug and alcohol rehab center that can heal you on your own terms. In the end, anything less simply isn’t good enough.

There are plenty of drug and alcohol rehab centers in Los Angeles. Some of them deliver on their promises. Some of them don’t. The difference, for you, is more important than any in the world. The day you arrive at private drug and alcohol rehab center will quite literally be the first day of the rest of your life, provided you find a place that’s right for you. In the end, it’s hard to imagine how anything could ever be more important than that.

And why go to rehab any where but in Malibu, CA?

May 23rd, 2008

One of first things to be learned in a luxury residential alcohol rehabilitation center, or any alcohol rehab really, is the definition of the word… Alcoholism is a term with multiple and sometimes conflicting definitions. In common and historic usage, alcoholism refers to any condition that results in the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages despite the health problems and negative social consequences it causes. Medical definitions describe alcoholism as a disease which results in a persistent use of alcohol despite negative consequences. Alcoholism may also refer to a preoccupation with or compulsion toward the consumption of alcohol and/or an impaired ability to recognize the negative effects of excessive alcohol consumption. Although not all of these definitions specify current and on-going use of alcohol as a qualifier, some do, as well as remarking on the long-term effects of consistent, heavy alcohol use, including dependence and symptoms of withdrawal.

While the ingestion of alcohol is, by definition, necessary to develop alcoholism, the use of alcohol does not predict the development of alcoholism. The quantity, frequency and regularity of alcohol consumption required to develop alcoholism varies greatly from person to person. In addition, although the biological mechanisms underpinning alcoholism are uncertain, some risk factors, including social environment, emotional health and genetic predisposition, have been identified. Alas, if you identify with any of this, perhaps you should get sober and enter an alcohol rehabilitation facility. And why not one in Malibu, CA…

The most luxurious experience

May 21st, 2008

The best drug treatment center isn’t the one that does the heavy lifting for you. On the contrary, addiction recovery is and must a personal process, and the best drug treatment centers aim to empower their patients above ell else. If you’re going to get better, it’s going to be because you engage with your drug rehab program, and commit yourself to the long-term fight against addiction. No one can get sober for you. No one can help you if you won’t help yourself. Drug rehabilitation has to start with you. The best drug treatment center experience is the one that you drive with your own efforts.

The moral of the story? Don’t expect too much from your substance abuse treatment facility. Yes, exclusive rehab at a luxury rehab center can make a world of difference. But even the best drug treatment center in California is only as successful as its patients make it. Your future is in your hands here. How you shape it is up to you.

Gentle approach to alcoholism

May 9th, 2008

Alcoholism ruins lives. There’s no gentler way to describe the disease, or prettier way to frame its effects. If you’re here, reading this, you already know that alcohol abuse strips its victims of their dignity, and turns them into shells of the people they used to be. But that doesn’t have to be the end of the story. As devastating as alcoholism can be, successful alcoholism treatment can make a world of difference. The only catch, of course, is that you have to seek it out. And you can only seek it out after you’ve come to grips with the fact of your alcohol problem.

Enrolling in an alcohol rehab program isn’t an easy thing to do. It means admitting weakness, and vulnerability, and that you have a problem you can’t solve by yourself. But nothing you do will ever be more important. For your own sake, for the sake of the people who care about you…let today be the day you make the right choice. You know what’s at stake in the fight against alcoholism. Now you know what you can do to win it. You will never, ever, regret the effort.

The truth is that substance abuse treatment is a delicate art form, and that only by finding a substance abuse treatment center that’s right for you can you expect to get sober for good. Of course, that finding is often easier said than done.

There are plenty of private substance abuse treatment facilities in Los Angeles. Some of them really can help their patients get sober for good. Some of them can’t. Before you make a substance abuse treatment center decision, it’s vital that you research your options, and understand your needs. Substance abuse treatment will change your life, provided you find a program that can give you all the care you need to get better. Given those stakes, you simply can’t afford to make an uninformed decision.

Beating addiction for good

April 15th, 2008

If you’re going to beat addiction for good, you’re going to have to be healed from the inside-out. That’s why dual diagnosis is so important. Remember, addiction is both a physical and psychological disease. Addiction recovery, then, must be both a physical and psychological process. Those rehab centers that employ dual diagnosis techniques recognize that substance abuse is very often rooted in underlying psychiatric conditions, and that successful substance abuse treatment must eradicate those conditions wherever they exist. Any other approach simply isn’t good enough.

Nothing is guaranteed in the drug and alcohol rehab process. Rehab can only be successful if it’s administered the right way, by people who know what they’re doing. And dual diagnosis has to be part of the process. You already know what’s at stake in the fight against addiction. Now you know what kind of support you need to win it. All that remains is for you to find a treatment center that can give it to you.
